6 Things You Need To Bring On Your Arizona Road Trip

Arizona is one of the most popular tourist destinations in America. Last year alone, Arizona had 29.3 million visitors who visited for business or pleasure. It has some of the most beautiful scenery, and you can go on tons of adventures!  If you’re planning a trip to Arizona, there are plenty of things you’ll need for your time here. Here are just a few suggestions for items that will make your trip more enjoyable.

 

Sunscreen, Sun Hat, and Sunglasses

Arizona is known for its sunny days. The summer months can reach up to 110 degrees, so you must protect your skin. You don’t want to ruin your vacation with a bad sunburn!  Make sure you bring plenty of sunscreens. The last thing you’d want is to have stayed out in the sun too long and have to spend the rest of your vacation at home recovering from a burn.

Another item that will help keep you safe is a sun hat or sunglasses.  Don’t forget to pack your favourite pair of shades because you’ll want them during your trip.  You’ll need them to keep the sun out of your eyes and protect yourself from harmful UV rays. ​Sunscreen will help prevent sunburns and heatstroke, while a hat and sunglasses will keep harmful rays out of your eyes.

 

Bug Spray

If you’re planning on going camping or hiking, bug spray is a must-have!  There are a lot of insects in Arizona that you wouldn’t want to run into.  Arizona is home to a vast variety of creepy crawlers, so if you go on a hike or camping trip, make sure you bring some bug spray.

You’ll also need bug spray while you’re exploring the many caves in Arizona.  Some caves contain giant bats and other animals that might be dangerous. If one of these creatures bites or stings you, an infection could develop very quickly.

Bug sprays are available at many stores in Arizona, so it won’t be hard to find some.  Make sure to pack plenty of bug spray before your trip because you will need them for any outdoor activities. You don’t want to spend your time at the Grand Canyon trying to swat away all the bugs. All in all, you don’t want them to ruin your vacation.

 

Recreational Vehicle

If you’re planning to go to a national park or stay at a campsite, make sure you bring a recreational vehicle. There are many different kinds of RVs available online; you can see some options here. Recreational vehicles are very convenient because they give you the comfort and space of your own home while on vacation.  

It will be less expensive than buying hotel rooms every day.  You can cook your own food on the RV stove and relax in a comfy bed. If you add on some fun add-ons to your RV, it will be more enjoyable for everyone!  There are TVs available on the market that you can bring along on road trips, so there won’t be any downtime during your vacation.

You can also purchase a sound system that allows you to play music inside the RV without blowing out the speakers.  Everyone will have fun on these road trips! Don’t forget to bring some games for everyone either because it’ll make the trip more enjoyable.

 

Snacks and Water

If you’re out travelling all day, you’re definitely going to get hungry.  When that happens, you’ll want some snacks on hand to hold yourself over until dinner time. It should be part of your checklist. There are many places in Arizona where there isn’t a lot of food available, so it’s important that you bring some snacks. You never know when your stomach will decide it wants some food!

When you’re busy going from one National Park to another, sometimes it’s easy to forget about eating.  If you don’t remember to eat, you’ll end up tired and grumpy.  You want to avoid that because no one wants a grumpy traveller on their hands. Carrying food around with you can also be dangerous because animals might smell it. Bears are found in many National Parks, so you have to ensure that there isn’t any food with you or anywhere nearby.

If you’re planning on going to any outdoor activities, water is a must-have.  You’ll definitely need water for your hike because you’ll be exerting a lot of energy. Arizona can get very hot during the summer months, so it’s important to keep yourself hydrated because your body will be losing fluids faster than normal. Not having enough water could cause heatstroke, which is extremely dangerous.

Make sure not to drink too much water at once because it can cause water poisoning.  Water poisoning causes people to become nauseous and vomit. If you drink too much water at once, your kidneys won’t be able to process all of it at once, and toxins will start building up in your bloodstream. It’s important to make sure you stay hydrated, but don’t drink too much at once, or you could get sick.

 

Layers of Clothing

The weather in Arizona can change at any moment. You could be sitting out on a hot summer day and then suddenly find yourself stuck in the middle of a snowstorm. Bring many layers of clothing with you to make sure you’re prepared for whatever Mother Nature has in store for you.

Even though it’s called the desert, it gets cold at night.  Make sure you pack a sweatshirt or jacket because it’s always better to be safe than sorry. You don’t want to get stuck outside without anything warm to wear! If you go camping, make sure you bring an extra blanket with you because it can get cold out there too. Always make sure you have enough clothing on you to stay warm and safe.

 

A Good Camera

Arizona has some very breathtaking scenery and landmarks, so make sure you bring a good camera with you on your road trip. You don’t want any of your memories to be lost because you didn’t have a good enough camera.  Your Arizona road trip will be full of fun and excitement, but you don’t want to forget all of it by not having a camera.

Many people like to record videos on their phones, too, so make sure your phone is charged! It won’t be good if you run out of battery when you’re all the way out in Arizona. If you forget your charger at home, make sure to buy one when you get to Arizona.  Your phone is critical for keeping in touch with home and your friends, so make sure it’s fully charged!

 

Arizona is a state that has many different terrains and climates, which means you need to pack accordingly.  Make sure you bring all the essentials with you on your road trip to make it go smoothly.
