I’ve done my fair share of travel over the years, and as such, I’ve been sick a few times along the way. It’s not ideal, but in most cases, manageable if you have the right cold and flu-fighting must-haves. So, today, we are going to go over a few travel must-haves that you should always bring along in case you end up feeling under the weather.
Real Paw Paw
You know when you get sick and you continuously blow your nose, and it ends up red and irritated? Well, I found the best solution for this is Paw Paw. Apply a little in the morning around your nose and a little at night, and it not only helps to protect, but it will also help heal any potential irritations before they happen.
I’ve used it every time I get sick for the last few years, and it really is a lifesaver.
Travel Tissues
Whether I have the sniffles or not, I take travel tissues everywhere I go. In case of sneezing, clean-up, or sickness, they are easy to pack away and always come in handy. Typically, I buy a mega pack, as it’s cheaper, and keep them in my bathroom so I can take one of two individual packs with me, one that goes in my carry-on and one in my checked luggage.
Horseradish & Garlic Tablets
A couple of years ago, I was getting sick while on vacation, and my partner’s mother insisted I take garlic and horseradish tablets, so I did. It turns out I felt so much better over the coming days, and ever since, every time I’m coming down with something, I take it.
While I’m not claiming that they help with everything, they do seem to help with overall health and possibly immunity toward certain cold and flu symptoms.
Fisherman’s Friend
Growing up, every time we had a sore throat, Mum would give us Fisherman’s Friend. Ever since they have been my go-to throat lozenge. They help soothe sore throats, clear up sinuses, and generally just make you feel better when you have a cold or flu.
Unlike in the days of old, when they only came in the original, nowadays they come in all the flavours, depending on the country you are in. Personally, I love mint, chocolate mint, orange, and cherry.
Blair + Jack Anti-Bump Treatment
When I’m sick, I usually get puffy eyes, uneven skin, redness—you name it. One of the best solutions I’ve found in recent years is Blair + Jack’s Anti-Bump Treatment.
Gently rub a little on the affected areas and feel and see the relief in the coming hours. I’ve tested it on redness, bumps, and when I was sick, and it’s honestly a lifesaver if you’re under the weather but still have things to abolish and don’t want to look like the Walking Dead.
So, before the next time you get sick, I suggest adding the above items to your medicine cabinet to help you feel better and hopefully hear quicker the next time you find yourself under the weather dealing with a cold or flu.
