4 Ways to Relax and Unwind

The last year has been challenging.  Even more so, the things that we might have become accustomed to are currently unavailable or closed. So while at home, how do you take proper care of yourself and make sure that you stay rested and relaxed? We are sharing the four routines that we make sure to do daily or at the very least weekly, to keep us feeling great inside and out.

Let’s begin!

Stretch it Out

While you’ve been sitting at a desk, behind the wheel, on public transit, or the couch, your neck and back are tight, and most probably in need of a stretch. That varies based on your age, health, and flexibility, but everyone should stretch daily regardless of those factors.

For us, we do the basics mixed in with a bit of yoga, and their’s no better way to do yoga or stretch than with a perfect yoga mat. We’ve recently been using the bright and sunny yellow I GLOW Lolë yoga mat. The added cushion and grip makes stretching a breeze and will leave you feeling much more relaxed.

Sleep Soak

It might sound funny, but we’ve been doing it for years. Having a bath in the hours leading up to bedtime allows for a great relaxing release, and with some great bath products, you’ll be well on your way to feeling zen.

We’ve been using Dr Teal’s Epsom salts for years, which helps relax muscles, thus helping to unwind and lull you into a night of excellent sleep.

Dr teals also have something that I more recently became utterly addicted to; the Lavender Foaming Bath with Epsom salts, talk about unwinding, I can barely stay awake through the bath, and typically put myself to bed shortly after.

Pamper yourself

I don’t know about you, but it helps to look my best when it comes to feeling my best. Now that involves drinking lots of water, getting a good amount of sleep, healthy eating and of course, great skincare. From gentle cleanser to a great moisturiser, some skincare routines are just part of our routine, but treating yourself to a mask, that’s something a bit extra, and funny enough, you’ll be feeling even more extra with this at-home treatment.

Keep your skin in check with a moisturising sleeping mask. The belif Aqua Bomb Sleeping Mask quenches dry skin with explosive hydration, leaving you with a dewy, radiant glow!

Just scoop out a little jelly on your fingers, massage into face and neck, and hit the hay. You’ll wake up feeling fresh, and your skin will be glowing, which will help you to do the same!

Do an at-home massage

Whether you’re aching from working out, sitting around, or just because, massage guns have become one of the hottest tech items of the last year for a reason, and 2021 shows no sign of stopping.

Ease the pain of your 2021 with Conair’s Percussion Gun Massager! With up to 50 percussions per second, this tool helps release knots and relieve muscle fatigue, soreness, cramps, and stiffness.

It’s a gamechanger for at-home massage, at a fraction of the price of most units of the market.

So to recap, the rules of relaxation go as follows: Strech, soak, pamper, massage. Make this something you do monthly, weekly, or maybe if you have the time, every few days, either way, make sure to take the time for you to, relax, rejuvenate, and unwind.
