Beautiful Brows for 2024 and beyond

When it comes to eyebrows, the trend of standout, shapely arches is still going strong.   Gone are the overplucked and aggressively linear brows of the past; bold, natural looking with an expert shape are essential to any look, with or without makeup.

Not all of us are blessed with big beautiful brows that we can shape into whatever is the current style; it can take a bit of work to get the groomed brows we all desire.  Here are some tips to help you achieve brow glory, with a little patience and some help from an expert.

Put down the tweezers

This is probably one of the most challenging step of the brow reshaping process, but it must be done. If you want bolder brows, you won’t get them if you’re plucking away your growth. Wait it out as long as you can (at least a month to start) and give yourself a new canvas to start with. So let those tweezers gather dust, and let your brows grow wild before you can tame them into fabulousness.

Find a brow expert

Once you’ve let your brows grow to the point of personal intolerance, it’s time to find a brow guru to shape them to perfection. Lately I’ve been learning how to care for my brows under the expert guidance of Brittni Alexandra, owner and founder of B. Beautiful Studio. Upon meeting Brittni and seeing her own of beautiful brows for myself, I knew mine would be in the best hands.  Brittni is a whiz with a brow wax, and in painless session she had my brows beautifully shaped, a stark relief after letting them grow out for weeks.

Seriously, don’t touch those tweezers

Caving into the urge to tweeze is the fastest way to ruin your mid stage brows. One false pluck and all that patience growing those gals out is wasted, so put the tweezers down, or better yet don’t pick them up at all. In between sessions I was under strict orders to keep my hands off my own tweezers, which was clearly a challenge. But leaving the hair removal to the experts in those growth months really is worth it; you’ll love how your brows look.

Fill what you can’t grow

If your body doesn’t provide what you need for full and fashionable brows, worry not; innovation is alive and well in the beauty industry.  There are any number of brow pencils, powders, templates and tools to help you achieve the fuller brows you crave.  On top of at home options, professionals like Brittni offer brow colour services that range from semi permanent like microblading or quick and easy tinting.  B Beautiful has come out with a brand new service for those looking for badass brows with their Hybrid Brow Stain, transforming the way clients experience brow tinting.  This service is for those who love the look of a brow tint but want something more robust, or for individuals not quite ready to commit to powder brows.  The Hybrid Brow Stain provides a beautiful, defined look that enhances natural brows with stunning precision.  The results are impressively long lasting; on the skin for 5-10 days and on brow hair for 4-6 weeks.  The entire process takes just 20 minutes, making it easy and convenient for even the busiest folks.

Careful and Continued Maintenance

Once your brows are at their perfect shape, you can continue to visit an expert like Brittni for waxes as those stray hairs grow in, and that would be my strongest recommendation.  But if you can’t leave those hairs to grow between brow bar visits, you are now allowed to tweeze SPARSELY AND CAREFULLY, making sure not to mess with the shape of the brows themselves.  We leaved that to the professionals. Ensure you’re armed with a pair of top of the line tweezers – Tweezerman being my personal recommendation, as they’re sharp and precise to ensure that even the smallest hairs won’t be spared. Along with great tweezers, add a spoolie (you know, those little dry mascara wand looking things), and a pair of small scissors to your brow arsenal. Just brush your brow hairs up with your wand, and trim the strains to keep your brows looking neat between shaping appointments.

If you’re in Toronto be sure to visit B. Beautiful for all your brow needs.
