Every Moment All At Once by Pretty Crimes – a review

Raleigh band Pretty Crimes are back with their latest album Every Moment All at Once. With a base of blues rock, main songwriters Dan Irving and Em Edgerton have explored almost every format of indie music one can think of since the band’s inception.

Pretty Crimes creates music that ranges from indie rock to art pop, drawing additional influences from electronic music, country-western, 70’s Motown, and much more.  Pretty Crimes’ newest album “Every Moment All at Once” is a captivating blend of introspective lyrics, intricate melodies, and a rich tapestry of sound. The band masterfully combines elements of indie rock, electronic, and dream pop, creating a unique and immersive listening experience. Each track offers something new, from haunting vocals to lush instrumental arrangements, making the album feel both cohesive and dynamic. Standout tracks like “Echoes of Yesterday” and “Eternal Now” showcase the band’s ability to evoke deep emotions and transport listeners to another realm. Overall, “Every Moment All at Once” is a testament to Pretty Crimes’ growth and creativity, marking a significant milestone in their musical journey.

“‘Every Moment All at Once’ is about the threads of connection people have with each other, and how all of these threads come together to form the sum of one’s identity. We wanted to explore how, through the relationships in our lives, we discover different facets of ourselves; some that we love, and some that are hard to grapple with that we wish to change.”

Intrinsically entertaining and fun on top of being deep, evocative and high-concept, “Every Moment All at Once” as a little something for every musical taste, and that might be its biggest accomplishment in terms of connection: connecting the artists with their fans and connecting music fans with different tastes with each other.
