Growing a Mo to Raise Funds for Movember

Now that I’m of a certain age, I have to admit, I’ve seen my fair share of people close to me battle cancer, and most recently, even a very close family member, and I have been very open about my struggles with addiction and mental health, so since I have a platform and more than enough reasons, I want to get more involved in the community, promoting positive change and helping raise much-needed funds for causes close to my heart.

That is why I’ve signed up to raise funds for Movember this November.

Men’s health is in crisis. Men are dying on average five years earlier than women for largely preventable reasons.

A growing number of men – around 10.8M globally – are facing life with a prostate cancer diagnosis. Globally, testicular cancer is the most common cancer among young men. And across the world, one man dies by suicide every minute of every day, with males accounting for 69% of all suicides.

Movember is uniquely placed to address this crisis on a global scale. They fund groundbreaking projects all over the world, engaging men where they are to understand what works best and accelerate change.

My effort in my first year of fundraising for Movember revolves around continuing to keep an open conversation about overall health and mental health, raising money for Movember, which in turn supports the fight against prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health issues, and lastly, to see how I look with a moustache since I’ve rocked almost every other look.

So, on November 1st, I shaved my face, and I am already growing my stash like any gent in the know; I also made sure to get myself a new shaver and trimmer so I can make sure I look perfectly groomed throughout the month, and because it’s been years since I’ve upgraded my grooming gadgets.

Whether you need a clean shave, trim that stache, or up your grooming game, here are three suggestions we use to try and stay looking our best.

Shaving

When it comes to a close, quick shave, I like The Metal Foil Shaver from Conair. With hypoallergenic foils and a powerful rotary motor, this professional, powerful little tool offers an extra-close shave around the neck and hairline and shaves away your beard, just not your mustache.

Trimming

Once you have that stache going, you probably have to trim it, and that’s where the Adjustable Beard Trimmer comes into play. Find all the correct lengths for your beard, neckline, moustache and more by choosing any preferred length between 0.5 to 12 mm! Powered by a lithium-ion battery for long, lasting, powerful cordless use for up to 120 minutes with precision-engineered W-tech blades for ultra-smooth effortless cutting.

Overall Grooming

Are you looking for something great for all-over grooming and a little hair trim? Conair’s Professional Grade Lithium Ion Hair Clippers do the job. The long-lasting lithium-ion battery provides long running times and a flexible cordless cutting experience. The high-torque professional DC motor allows you to cut through any hair and keep looking your best.

The clippers come with an assortment of different-length guards, scissors and cleaning brush, so you can tidy up that fade, trim the sideburns, or whatever need be.

So, let’s take time this November to learn, grow and hopefully raise funds for a worthy cause. If you want to donate or learn more, please visit my fundraising page today at My Movember Page.
