Lime Cordiale Shows Toronto an Aussie Good Time

As part of their Enough of the Sweet Talk Tour, Lime Cordiale visited Toronto’s Danforth Music Hall on March 5th.

Show openers included The Haileys and The Orphan The Poet. The Haileys, a girl group from Winnipeg that all have the first name Hailey (or Haley), rocked out to open the evening.

The Orphan The Poet, a duo from Columbus, Ohio gave the audience an alt-indie performance reminiscent of early 2000s music. Singer David Eselgroth was very enthusiastic and engaged with the crowd, even bringing a ladder to the floor to sing in the pit but remaining visible to everyone. The band played songs off of their recent EP Release Eureka that had the crowd dancing with Eselgroth and Jake Floyd.

Lime Cordiale, manned by brothers Oliver and Louis Leimbach, was an exciting show. The frontmen with touring members had fun on stage during and in between performances, even donning capes and re-enacting a wrestling fight scene. The band played a variety of songs from 2017 hit Rickey Love, and recent hits like Cold Treatment. The band had no shortage of musical talent, playing a kazoo, a clarinet, the trumpet and the saxophone. Their sound ranged from rock to Indie sounding and even some pop tunes that were easy to learn the lyrics to if you were less familiar. The Leimbach brothers spoke of the synchronicity between Australia and Canada, though they met some boos when discussing America. The concert was a feel-good, fun evening of music coming from the heart.

The North American tour continues until March 28th. Following a brief break, the Love Is Off The Table tour will hit their home continent of Australia until May.
