The Holiday Gift Guide for Those Who Are Hard to Buy For

The holidays are not only a busy time, but it can also be hard to buy the right gifts for those closest to us, so this year, I thought I’d offer a few suggestions for some of the people in your life, with gifts I picked up for those in my life closest to me.

The Handy Person

My brother, my dad, and my other half all have a good number of tools. Each one has them in all sorts of spots around their basements and garage, so when I came across the Carpenter’s Tool Bag, I couldn’t help but think that it would make the perfect gift for anyone with a lot of tools or those who do a lot of odd jobs around the house.

This is not a typical tool bag. Constructed of heavy woven polyester, it has steel stretchers in the side panels and hardboard inserts in the bottom and ends, making it rigid without being heavy.

You can carry it by the cushioned steel bar handle with or without the removable bag cover in place. Various external pockets and flaps make organizing and accessing smaller tools easy, and hook-and-loop end straps secure long items, such as levels, to the top of the bag. One end of the bag has a clip for measuring tapes and a T-bar hanger for rolls of tape.

So, this bag allows the user to properly organize their tools while keeping them at the ready for when they next need them, so they aren’t leaving them all over the place. Perfect for the handy person in my life and yours.

The Bird Watcher

My parents, aunts and uncles all seem to love birdwatching, so much so that they have all set up feeders around their homes, but they all seem to have issues with squirrels, chipmunks or other animals trying to break into them, eat the seed or wreck them. So when I came across the Double-Sided Large Squirrel-Resistant Feeder, I decided it would be the perfect gift for any birdwatcher in my life or yours.

The perch is attached to a weight-activated door that closes over the seed ports when anything too heavy, like pesky squirrels, arrives for a visit. The adjustable spring mechanism can accommodate various weights to discourage heavy birds, such as grackles while leaving songbirds free to enjoy their dinner.

The lid locks shut when in the closed position to keep critters out. A seed-saver baffle reduces seed spilling and waste, which is an often occurrence with birds and birdfeeders, making this the ultimate gift to give any birdwatcher this holiday season.

The Baker

I’ve been searching for some cool bakeware that isn’t something I’ve seen before, and since I know that a slew of people I know make some fantastic holiday cookies and shortbread when I came across the Holiday Sweater Embossing Rolling Pin and the Kaleidoscope Embossing Rolling Pin, I thought both would make the perfect addition to any great bakers collection.

Bearing a laser-engraved design that resembles a knitted holiday sweater pattern or Kaleidoscope Embossing Rolling Pin, these rolling pins let you press the detailed, seamless design into rolled-out sheets of dough, embossing deeply so that the pattern stays crisply defined, even after baking.

Though primarily used for embossing dough and fondant, it also works well with pottery material or craft dough, making it an engaging activity for young helpers as well.

So, for those holiday bakers out there, this pair would make the perfect gift to give this holiday season.

The Barbecuer

For those you know who love to barbecue, giving a gift to elevate their talents is probably one of the best things you can do, so when I came across the Barbecue Pizza Stones and the Great Grilling Accessories, I just had to share.

Any great barbecuer needs the perfect utensils, including tongs, sauce mop and gloves.

21″ BBQ Croc Tongs

Combining the functions of tongs, a spatula, and a grill cleaner with extra-long handles to keep your hands away from the heat and flames, this is one of the most helpful barbecue tools we’ve tried.

Long-Handled Sauce Mop

This is no ordinary basting brush. Its broad, loosely spaced silicone bristles are covered in ridges, so they hold a lot of sauce, while its angled head and 16″ handle help when reaching things at the back of the grill.

HeatSafe Barbecue Gloves

As easy to slip on and off as regular oven mitts, these grilling gloves have an independent thumb and forefinger for better dexterity. They are made of heat-resistant aramid and have a comfortable poly/cotton lining, elasticized elbow-length cuffs, and silicone strips for grip—choice of medium (size 8) or large (size 9.5) gloves.

Making pizza at home lets you personalize it to your liking, but the challenge is mimicking the results of a traditional pizza oven. These stones are made of cordierite, a natural mineral that is heat resistant to 1470°F (800°C). The same material used to make kiln shelves, cordierite, is durable and, unlike ceramic, won’t crack or shatter if subjected to sudden temperature change. Hence, the stones are excellent for use in a barbecue. Moreover, they draw moisture out of the dough to ensure an evenly cooked and crispy crust, which means you can make the perfect pizza every time on the BBQ.

So, if you’re looking to buy for the barbecuer in your life, the Great Grilling Set and Barbecue Pizza Stones are the perfect gift.

The Outdoor Enthusiast

Being someone who is an enormous outdoor enthusiast, I can tell you first-hand something I’ve always wanted is a great Hammock, so to finish off this gift guide, I thought I’d share the ultimate gift for someone who loves to be out in nature, enjoying the weather and some night, laying back and star gazing.

So, when I tested out the Travel Hammock and loved it, I thought I’d share this as something that makes the perfect gift for the adventurer or nature lover in your life.

This lightweight hammock is quick and easy to set up. Made from tough rip-stop polyester, it comes with tree straps, steel cinch buckles and simple instructions for installation between trees or posts.

With a load capacity of 400 lb, the 10′ × 5′ wide hammock packs inside the integral storage sack along with the accessories, making a bundle weighing less than 2 lb, that’s small enough to fit in a backpack yet perfect for lazing outside and taking a moment to kick back and relax.

So there you have it, our gift guide for those hard to buy for loved ones. We hope this helps you out this holiday season, but no matter what you gift or receive, we hope you have a great time full of merriment and cheer.
